What we hold

Short, because we hold very little

This website

The site is static HTML. It sets no advertising cookies, runs no analytics script, and embeds no third-party trackers. Two values are stored in your browser's local storage, never sent anywhere, and readable only by this site: cvt_theme, your light or dark preference, and cvt_lang, your language preference. Clearing your browser data removes both. The only external origin the pages contact is Google Fonts, for the two typefaces.

Your account

If you create an account we store an email address or a username, a hashed password, your plan and any products you have bought, the price you paid and the date you paid it, and an identifier for each device you register, up to the three-device limit. The device identifier is a hardware identifier used to count devices against that limit. It is not linked to your browsing.

VPN activity

We do not record which sites you visit, which services you connect to, or the contents of your traffic. There is no activity log to hand over, sell or lose. Operational data needed to keep the service running, such as whether a node is up, is kept without reference to individual users.

Local Translate

The text you translate never leaves your machine. There is no upload because there is no translation server. The application contacts our account server only to check your licence, and then keeps working offline for 30 days without contacting anything at all.

Payments

Cryptocurrency payments are processed by our own BTCPay instance. Card and PayPal payments, where offered, are processed by the payment provider, and we receive confirmation of payment rather than your card details. We never hold your full card number.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it. Deleting the account removes the record of your purchase, so export anything you need first. Write to us through the support channel listed on the site.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes to what we collect will be announced to account holders rather than quietly edited in.
